Lautrec Pink Garlic Brotherhood

The objective of the brotherhood is to promote Lautrec’s Pink Garlic and also the Lautrec region and its culinary traditions.

It has a total of 170 members and the Grand Chancellor (President) is Alain Rouquier.

The members of the brotherhood travel everywhere in France and abroad at the invitation of other brotherhoods.

History of the brotherhood

By the end of 1999 the Lautrec Union for the Protection of the Pink Garlic Label set about founding a twin association : the brotherhood.

The brotherhood was officially created in July 2000 under the patronage of two neighbouring brotherhoods: the Gaillac Knights of the Divine Bottle and the Lacaune “Maseliers”.

The brotherhood organises at least one major chapter each year during which it invites numerous French and European brotherhoods. It also enrols new members (French and international personalities) who become passionate advocates of the Lautrec Pink Garlic cause.

The tasting challenge

During the chapter, the new members have to taste some Lautrec Pink Garlic's soup before being welcomed as one of the Brotherhood.

Some of the wellknown members of the Lautrec Pink Garlic Brotherhood : André Daguin, Olivier Soudan, Ariane Daguin, Yannick Jauzion, Vincent Ferniot, ...

During the various travels of the brotherhood, bonds of friendship are often formed. For example, the Lautrec Pink garlic brotherhood and the Bidart Chipiron (squid) brotherhood have been partners since July 2004.
